Description:

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly reshaping education, yet many educators remain uncertain about how to use it effectively and responsibly.

The workshop blends clear explanation, demonstrations, peer discussions, and structured reflection. Examples adapted to the African context will highlight cases where AI can be used to enhance teaching and learning, automate routine academic tasks, support research productivity, and improve student support and institutional efficiency.

Participants will leave with practical resources they can apply immediately, a curated list of AI prompts for educators covering lesson planning, assessment, feedback, research, and administrative tasks.

09:15 - 09:45 | Deep Dive:  What Does "Good EdTech" Look Like in Practice? Panel with EdTech innovators, Education decision-makers and evidence practitioners sharing lessons from evidence-backed implementations with UNICEF’s Blue Unicorn Portfolio in Africa 

09:45 - 10:30 | Hands-On Clinic: Building EdTech for Good (part 1). Building on pre-filled EdTech for Good assessment,  edtech innovators receive targeted tips and mentorship from experts and practitioners to improve the products, and investors & policymakers learn to apply the EdTech for Good principles into evaluation and investment decisions.

11:00 - 12:15 Hands-On Clinic: Building EdTech for Good (part 2).
