Academic Integrity & AI Enabled Assessment in Higher Education (EN/FR)

Friday, June 5, 2026 12:00 – 13:00

Room: Omanye II

EN/FR interpretation available

As digital and AI-enabled assessment expands across African universities, safeguarding academic integrity has become increasingly urgent. This session examines emerging risks and institutional responses, from AI-assisted proctoring and detection tools to assessment formats that emphasise process, originality, and applied competence. Drawing on evidence from multiple countries, contributions consider how policy gaps, technological challenges, student behaviour and pedagogical shifts are reshaping assessment, and what is required to build more trustworthy and equitable systems.
