Biography

Aletta Mweneni Hautemo is an associate professor for digital linguistics and literature in the Faculty of Commerce, Human Sciences, and Education at the Namibia University of Science and Technology in Windhoek, Namibia. She served as the Coordinator for Instructional Design and Technology at NUST and a Lecturer for Language Education at the University of Namibia (UNAM). She obtained her Ph.D. at Stellenbosch University (SA) in Technology Enhanced Language Learning, an M.Ed. from Rhodes University in ICT in Education (cum laude), a postgraduate diploma in ICT Leadership in the Knowledge Society from Dublin City University (Ireland) and a B.Ed. Hons (cum laude) from Rhodes University (SA) and a Master of Science in Leadership in Open Education from the University of Nova Gorica in Slovenia. Having started off her career as a professional teacher in 2007, she has gained broader experience in general education, vocational education and training, and adult and distance education. Dr Hautemo is well versatile in instructional design, e-learning course development, and online teaching in ODL and open schooling. She is a certified RPL assessor and curriculum developer. She has published pedagogical books, book chapters, and articles in accredited journals, and has presented papers at various local and international conferences. She is an active member of the Namibian Open Learning Network Trust (NOLNet). She has supervised PHDs and several Master and Postgraduate research studies at various institutions of higher learning in Namibia. Her research interests include technology-enhanced language learning, online translation and localisation of indigenous languages, ICT integration in education, multimodal learning and Open and Distance Education and eLearning.
