Biography
John is a researcher, consultant, and EdTech architect. As Head of Office, Africa for the Spix Foundation and lead consultant for the AUDA-NEPAD Africa EdTech 2030:Vision &Plan, he has been instrumental in building the framework that Mwanga wa Elimu exists to deliver. He spent 18 years at Kenya's Institute of Curriculum Development, where he built digital radio and TV production studios and led the institute to three consecutive KUZA awards. John brings unparalleled insight into education technology operations through his experience managing large-scale implementations across African education systems.. His analysis combines policy expertise with practical knowledge of classroom realities, procurement constraints, and administrative challenges facing education leaders. Kimotho's current work as the founding director of Trinity Education Technologies Solutions Africa (TETA) provides ongoing insights into the operational barriers that prevent effective technology adoption across diverse African education contexts.
