Biography

Dr Guy-Roger Kaba is Head of the Education Quality Observatory division (OQE) of CONFEMEN's Support Programme for Change and Transformation in Education (PACTE).

An education specialist with a PhD in mathematics didactics from Laval University (Quebec, Canada), he taught mathematics in Gabon and contributed to the development of an emergency plan for education in that country in 2016.

Since 2017, he has been at CONFEMEN, where he was technical advisor to PASEC and educational policy advisor to the Pôle Politiques Éducatives (PPE). He took part in the PASEC 2019 evaluation in 14 countries and was CONFEMEN's focal point for GPE's Analysis of Learning Assessment Systems (ANLAS) programme in Mauritania. Under the GPE, which became PACTE in 2022, he contributed to studies and seminars aimed at improving the quality of education in sub-Saharan Africa, notably as part of the KIX programme and the Imaginecole initiative. Dr Kaba is also author or co-author of scientific articles in fields such as mathematics didactics and comparative education.
