Biography

Faraja Kotta Nyalandu is a dynamic lawyer, entrepreneur, and social innovator dedicated to leveraging technology for social sustainability and educational transformation. As the Founder and Co-CEO, she has successfully built an award-winning Pan-African social enterprise that provides digital educational resources for millions of children and young people.

With expertise in strategic planning, leadership, and stakeholder engagement, Faraja has also established Ndoto Hub, an innovation platform that supports women entrepreneurs with both personal and professional development. She is a recognised leader in education and digital transformation, serving in various advisory and governance roles, including as a Council member of the Presidential End Malaria Council, a member of Tanzania’s National Digital Transformation Strategy Technical Working Group, and a member of the global advisory committee of Teach AI (Artificial Intelligence). She also serves as a Board Member of the Africa Network Campaign on Education for All, the Global Campaign for Education, and is the re-elected Chairperson of the Tanzania Education Network.

With a strong academic background, Faraja holds a First-Class Master of Laws (LLM) in Migration, Refugee, and Human Rights from the University of Dar es Salaam, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of East London. She has received numerous prestigious awards, including Africa’s 100 Most Impactful Women Founders, Africa’s Leading Woman in Tech, Top 100 Young Africans, the Systems Innovator Award, and an Education Champion Award from Tanzania’s Ministry of Education.

As a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum and a passionate advocate for systemic change, her work is not just about innovation—it’s about building the future—one where technology bridges educational gaps and empowers the next generation of leaders. Whether advising governments on digital transformation or designing groundbreaking learning solutions, Faraja is redefining what’s possible for Africa’s education ecosystem and social development at scale.
