Biography

Prof. Eric Appau Asante is an Associate Professor of Educational Innovations and the Founding Director of the E-Learning Centre at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. He is the immediate past Director of E-Learning for KNUST and its affiliate institutions and currently serves as a Certified Quality Matters (QM) Coordinator and Reviewer, advancing standards in online learning design and delivery. Prof. Asante is a Star Ambassador of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and serves as Project Lead for the Partnership for Enhanced and Blended Learning (PEBL) at KNUST. A former Head of the Department of Educational Innovations in Science and Technology, he has held several academic leadership roles including Programme Coordinator for Master of Education and Postgraduate Educational Innovations and Leadership Science, Assessment Officer for KNUST-affiliated Colleges of Education, and Examinations Officer for the Faculty of Educational Studies. He facilitates quality assurance training under the HAQAA (Harmonisation of African Higher Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation) initiative and contributes to continental efforts to strengthen digital education systems. Prof. Asante holds a PhD from KNUST, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a Postgraduate Diploma in General Education from the University of Education, Winneba, alongside a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design and Performance Improvement from Arizona State University and a Certificate in Online Design, Teaching, and Learning from the University of Amsterdam. He is a recipient of the Getty Foundation Scholars Award (2014) and the SEDA Named Award in Supporting Technology Enhanced Learning (STEL) presented jointly by ACU and the UK Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA). Prof. Asante is also the author of Maximizing E-Learning in a Constrained Ecosystem, a book offering strategic guidance for digital transformation in resource-limited contexts.
