Biography
Prof. Chrispen Chiome is the Director of the Teaching and Learning Centre of the Zimbabwe Open University. He is responsible for supporting the teaching community in subject-specific growth, curriculum development, engaging the latest technologies, and integrating technology and teaching, among others. He has established Faculty Learning Communities (FLC), and peer tutoring programs, and participates in e-learning movements and consortia. He is passionate about empowering Faculty to develop innovative ways of teaching, refining their teaching and assessment capabilities, developing innovative curricula, and offering instructional technology support. He served as a Research Professor, in the Office of the Vice Chancellor (2012-2016), and Director of the Higher Degrees Directorate (2017 – 2021). He holds a Bed. a Med (University of Zimbabwe) and a PhD (Zimbabwe Open University) in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. He is a Full Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the Department of Educational Studies of the Faculty of Education at the Zimbabwe Open University. He is a member of the International Task Force for Teachers for Education for All, the World Social Science Forum, and member of the UPLIFT-Agriculture project led by Kenyatta University.
