Biography
Dr Tomlin Paul is a Health Professions Education Specialist at the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda. He previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Jamaica, where he championed the adoption of a social accountability vision for health professions education that received the ASPIRE Award for Excellence in Medical Education in the area of Social Accountability from the Association of Medical Education of Europe (AMEE).
Dr Paul has been a consultant to the Pan American Health Organisation in medical education. He has received the Five Star Doctor Award for the North American Region of the World Organisation of National Colleges and Associations for Family Physicians’ (WONCA) and the Vice Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in the areas of Teaching and Quality Assurance Excellence from The University of the West Indies (UWI).
At eLearning Africa 2023, Dr Tomlin Paul will share a case study of the Africa-Finland Educational Network (AFFE) on how to assess the quality of eLearning in rural clinical settings and its impact on improving health care in Africa.
