Smile Dzisi

Biography

Prof. Smile Gavua Dzisi is a distinguished academic leader with over 30 years of experience in teaching, educational administration, and gender advocacy. She holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Swinburne University-where she earned the award for the most distinguished thesis -alongside degrees from KNUST and the University of Ghana. Her leadership career is defined by historic milestones, including serving as the first female Rector of a Polytechnic in Ghana and as Vice-Chancellor of Koforidua Technical University during its institutional transition. She has also served as President of the Data Link Institute of Business and Technology and chaired the Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities of Ghana. A fellow of several professional bodies, she is a dedicated advocate for gender equity in STEM and TVET. Additionally, she is an astute researcher with many publications to her credit and has consulted for over 30 organizations, including the UNFPA and the Commonwealth of Learning. Currently, she provides strategic leadership as the Deputy Director-General (Management Services) at the Ghana Education Service and serves as Council Chair of Ho Technical University.
