Salha Abdo

Biography

Salha Abdo is the founding dean of the Faculty of Economics and Financial Sciences at the Open University of Sudan. She is as well the Public and International Relations Director of the Sudanese Organization for Innovative Education System.

She has followed graduated courses in economics and scientific research, Her skills are Open and Distance Learning, Open Education Practices, E-Learning, Creativity, Leadership, Problem solving, Teamwork.

She is trained in the Teacher Educator Programme, Open University UK, Open Educational Resources (OER), Designing and Publishing Accessible E-Content for disabled people, and diagnostic tools for improving education policy planning and quality standards and accreditation in high education.

She obtained a master's degree in Economics from the University of Khartoum in 2009 and she is currently a Ph.D. researcher in the field of Macroeconomics.

She contributed to several national and international activities. In Sudan, she is active in advocating women's empowerment in education and economics research in Open education, OER, Learning, design, and development of e-learning courses, e-exams and building skills in using Learning Management Systems, Student Support Systems. 

She overlooks the stages of more than 50 books (Open University of Sudan's own Textbooks, with special learning designed by ODL policies). 

In 2017, she was invited to attend the International Visiting Scholar Program in the Shanghai Open University, China. • In 2022, she was invited to attend the Knowledge Equity Network at Leeds University, UK, a global and major new initiative to collaboratively tackle the biggest global challenges by truly opening access to quality higher education for all. She contributes to raising awareness of ODL in Sudan and aspires to become an African expert in Open Education and Knowledge Equity field.
