Sabiha Somji is the Founder and CEO of Shugulika Africa Limited, an HR firm that has grown from humble beginnings into a recognized leader in recruitment, consulting, training, and advisory services. Starting in 2008 with nothing more than a laptop, two desks, and an office behind a petrol station, Sabiha single-handedly built her business from scratch—despite having no formal background in human resources or prior industry experience.
Today, Shugulika Africa Limited boasts a dedicated team of over 10 full-time employees, 5 consultants, and a proud legacy spanning 16 years. Under Sabiha’s leadership, the firm has consistently upheld its core values of Integrity, Quality, Transparency, and Passion—qualities that have earned it the trust of clients and longevity in a competitive market.
Sabiha’s approach has always been impact-driven. Through Shugulika, she has helped countless individuals secure meaningful employment while assisting businesses in creating compliant, engaging, and harmonious workplaces. Her efforts have not only improved organizational performance but have also enhanced the quality of life for employees and employers alike—recognizing that workplaces shape much of our lives.
Sabiha’s educational journey began in London, where she studied Insurance at the London Guildhall University (now London Metropolitan University). Her commitment to continuous learning and personal growth led her to earn a certification from the HeartMath Institute as a trainer in “The Resilience Advantage: Skills for Professional and Personal Excellence.” This certification underscores her passion for resilience, intuition, and using these as guiding forces in both professional and personal life.
Through Sabiha, Shugulika Africa Limited is part of the Stanford Seed Cohort for 2025—a competitive program from Stanford University for business leaders, which helps impact-driven leaders take their businesses and impact to the next level.
