Ruth Nsibirano

Biography

Ruth Nsibirano is an Associate Professor of Gender in the School of Women and Gender Studies, Makerere University. Ruth holds a PhD in Gender Studies, an MA in Women Studies and an Hons Degree in Library and Information Science of Makerere University. Ruth has over twenty years’ experience in teaching of Gender, is a competent gender trainer and has developed a number of training manuals to empower women and youth in business and life skills.  Ruth is a committed and growing online facilitator and online content developer interested to have technology work for everyone. Research interests include gender and ICT; integration of technology in teaching and learning (eLearning, distance education or blended learning); Gender Based Violence; Gerontology and Mainstreaming of Gender in STEM and Development practice. 

Ruth is also a co-founder of Health Link Foundation (HELIFO) a dully registered non-governmental organization whose aim is to enhance social transformation through skilling and capacity building, action research to generate evidance for policy and practice, a gender and community engagement activist involved in supporting and promoting efforts targeting advancement of gender equality, attainment of improved livelihood options for the under privileged as well as improved access to quality and affordable health care services.
