Biography
Roger Lawrence is a digital learning and knowledge management specialist with extensive experience supporting health professions education across Africa. Additionally he is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with a Master's in Management Information Systems and further certifications in Knowledge Management, Artificial Intelligence, and Monitoring and Evaluation. He serves as the IT and Digital Learning lead at the African Forum for Research and Education in Health (AFREhealth), where he manages the organisation’s learning management system and leads the design and implementation of large-scale online training programmes for health professionals.
Roger has coordinated the digital delivery of multiple pan-African initiatives, including interprofessional HIV training, nursing and midwifery leadership development, and faculty development in health professions education. His work focuses on scaling multilingual eLearning programmes, supporting educators and facilitators, and strengthening digital learning ecosystems in low-resource settings. He has led collaborations with global partners including universities and international organisations to expand access to high-quality learning opportunities across Anglophone, Francophone, and Lusophone Africa. Roger’s interests include digital health education, knowledge management, AI in learning, and the use of technology to strengthen workforce capacity and improve health systems.
