Biography
Building on a lifelong passion for education, Roger has led the evolution of connected classroom technologies and methodologies at ApplianSys, the schools connectivity specialists. He has overseen systematic interrogation of an extensive dataset accumulated over 22 years from learning environments across 160 countries, and now being added to at the rate of 130m lessons a year. The data tracks the e-Learning journey that all schools travel, and highlights the unique nature - and challenges - of the internet traffic which is generated by advanced digital teaching & learning.
The insights, experience and knowhow gained, both underpin the ApplianSys product roadmaps, and inform best practice strategies for schools connectivity. In so doing, they offer a contribution to our understanding of what Meaningful Connectivity looks like in a schools-specific context, opening up the opportunity for radically lower cost and equitable effective access to the most transformative e-learning.
Through the vehicle of the UN ITU’s Partner2Connect Digital Coalition, Roger has pledged to help Educators and Technologists – including for hard-to-connect and underserved areas - to both understand and adopt connectivity best practice to transform education through digital learning, faster, equitably, and more sustainably.
