Biography
Dr Makgabo Reginah Mhaule is an accomplished politician and educator, currently serving as the Deputy Minister of Basic Education. Her public service career began in 1995 as a Councillor. In 2000, she was elected Speaker of Mbombela, a role she held until her appointment as Executive Mayor in 2003. Between 2006 and 2009, she served as Senior Manager in the Mpumalanga Department of Roads and Transport. In 2009, she became the MEC for Education in Mpumalanga, a position she held until February 2018, when she was appointed Deputy Minister of International Relations.
Dr Mhaule holds a Doctorate in Public Administration, alongside several other qualifications: a Master’s in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Education (Honours), a Further Diploma in Education, a Diploma in Programme and Project Management, and a Bachelor of Arts. She also earned a Secondary Teachers’ Diploma and, a Diploma in Theology. Her unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth is a testament to her dedication and passion for education and public service.
