Biography
Dr Rachida Ajhoun, a Senior Professor of Higher Education at ENSIAS (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique et d'Analyse des Systèmes) in Rabat, Morocco, heads the Learning and Research of Mobile Age (LeRMA) team. With a PhD in Computer Science and eLearning from Ecole Mohammadia d'Ingénieurs in 2001, she is a distinguished expert in the field. As the former Director of the eLearning Centre at University Mohammed V de Rabat and Technical Advisor for the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Executive Training (2013-2014), she played pivotal roles in initiating projects like the first Moroccan MOOC.
Dr Ajhoun is a founding member of the GUIDE (Global Universities in Distance Education) Association and served as its African region representative from 2008-2012. With a strong commitment to research, she leads numerous national and international projects focusing on eLearning and learning quality improvement.
At eLearning Africa 2023, Dr Ajhoun will share insights on leveraging Artificial Intelligence for personalised learning, addressing the state of MOOCs and proposing enhancements through AI. With over a hundred indexed articles, a book, and multiple book chapters on eLearning, she is a Senior Member of IEEE and was honoured with the Moroccan Royal Medal of Honour "Al Istihkak Al Watani - Exceptional" in 2021. Dr Ajhoun's extensive experience and contributions make her a notable figure in the advancement of educational technologies.
