Biography
Professor Clement Dzidonu is a computer scientist and African futurist, serving as President of the Accra Institute of Technology, affiliated with the African Futurist and Futures Institute (AFFI), and a Senior Research Fellow at the International Institute of Information Technology.
He earned his PhD in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin in 1988 and has since built an extensive academic career, teaching and conducting research across institutions in Europe, Africa, and the United States, including Makerere University, NUST Zimbabwe, and Touro University.
Professor Dzidonu has authored over 100 scientific publications and textbooks, with expertise spanning ICT, capacity development, and digital transformation. Over the past 25 years, he has led and advised major ICT initiatives across Africa and Europe, serving as a consultant to organisations such as United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, United Nations Development Programme, the World Bank, and the African Development Bank, supporting multiple African governments.
His professional affiliations include fellowships and memberships in leading international bodies such as the British Computer Society and the World Technology Network. His contributions have been widely recognised, notably with the World Technology Award (2003), making him the first African recipient, alongside honours such as the Ghana ICT Awards Life Achievement Award and multiple international distinctions.
