Biography
Paul Ssendagire was born in Lubaga, Uganda in 1979. He is a talented visual artist and trained teacher with vast experience. He holds a Masters’ Degree in Higher Education Management and Administration from Uganda Management institute, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Fine Art from Makerere University.
Currently, Ssendagire is the head of the Art and Design Department at National Teachers’ College, Mubende. In 2021, his dedication and exemplary service to the College earned him an award as one of the most outstanding college lecturers.
As a visual artist, Paul Ssendagire is one of the most outstanding printmakers in the country. His works have been exhibited widely locally and internationally with consistent good reviews. He is also a recipient of several art awards including
1st prize, National Art & Sport contest, organized by the Uganda Olympics Committee, 2003 & 2008; Imprints International Art contest (5th place winner), Canada, 2010; 1st prize winner, Voluntary Service Organization's Art contest, Uganda, 2005, among other awards.
