Biography
Olivia Mugabirwe is a Ugandan seasoned educator whose enthusiasm for teaching and learning has spanned almost three decades during which she has interacted with students at secondary and University level. She has taught at Namilyango College, St. Joseph’s Girls SS Nsambya and Makerere University. This experience inspired her to start PeerLink Initiative Uganda (PELI-U) a community rooted organization that works through a community library model as a premise for nurturing children and youth into a culture of reading.
Olivia is passionate about creating a better learner experience and consequently makes use of participatory learner centered methods, and integrates information communication technology (ICT) in teaching and learning. She is firm believer in the adaptability and flexibility of the teaching and learning methods as a means of ensuring that the learner receives the most value from the learning process. In a world driven by a high rate of change in the use of technological tools for teaching and learning she remains committed to make it possible that children everywhere rural communities and urban communities alike are accorded the same opportunities with regards to access to information.
