Biography
Niels De Block has been working for over 2 years in the field of General Education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), both in Europe, Africa and Asia.
Between 2011 and 2017, he held the position of advisor on Education, Training and Employment at the Belgian Development Agency in Brussels (ENABEL, previously BTC). As such, he has been in charge of designing and supporting interventions in the field of TVET, private sector development and general education in partner countries of the Belgian Development Cooperation, such as RD Congo, Rwanda, Uganda, Guinea, Palestine, Vietnam, Morocco.
He was also part of the team that supported the E-learning intervention in Palestine, that won the first edition of the D4D (Digital for Development) Prize of the Belgian Minister in charge of Development Cooperation.
In his current position at ENABEL in Uganda, he is technically advising the Support to Skilling Uganda programme (27m€, three donors), as well as supporting the implementation of an EU funded component for skills for refugees in Northern Uganda.
