Eugene Nweke

Biography

Eugene Ndubuisi Nweke is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic and Project Coordinator for the Partnerships for Enhanced and Blended Learning (PEBL WA) programme at Ebonyi State University (EBSU). A Professor of Applied Politics and Public Policy, he earned his PhD from EBSU, specializing in Governance, Poverty, and Human Security. Prof. Nweke holds a Certificate in Social and Behavioral Research from the University of Miami (2013), sponsored by Pact Nigeria.

Prof. Nweke has held various leadership roles at EBSU, including Head of the Department of Political Science, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies. He also serves as Coordinator of the Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies since 2019.

Prof. Nweke's social responsibility initiatives include serving on committees for constitutional review, heritage conservation, and migration policy in Nigeria. He is the Chairman of the Ebonyi State Athletic Federation of Nigeria and holds memberships in professional bodies such as the International Political Science Association and the Nigerian Political Science Association.

Recognized for his scholarly contributions, Prof. Nweke has received grants and participated in research groups like the Independent National Electoral Commission Study Group. He is also a social entrepreneur and civil society activist, founding and leading the Initiative for Social Change in Africa (ISOCA).
