Biography
Muongeni, a fourth-year undergraduate at Chinhoyi University of Technology, is deeply passionate about leveraging geospatial technology to address environmental challenges. Her dedication and expertise have earned her significant recognition, including being named a top 5 winner in the Climate Action for Climate Change GIS Challenge 2022 and securing a Judge’s panel victory in the Tech Impacts category of the Tech4Wildlife Photo Challenge 2023.
In addition, Muongeni's accomplishments have led to her selection as one of the 50 Geospatial World Rising Stars to watch in 2024. Notably, she represented Africa as the sole female participant in the NASA Space Apps Collective and achieved the second position in the Climate Pitch Hackathon 2023.
Muongeni's involvement extends beyond accolades; she has been instrumental in organizing key events such as the 7th African Space Generation Workshop and the Our Giant Leap Hackathon 2023. Furthermore, she served as a local lead for the NASA Space Apps Challenge in both 2022 and 2023, showcasing her leadership and commitment to fostering innovation in her community.
