Biography
Michel Pavageau has been an advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation of Senegal since 2021.
In his previous position as a Director of International Strategy at Institut Mines-Télécom, France, he contributed actively to the working-out of the French-Senegalese Campus, a project of Presidents E. Macron and M. Sall. He has implemented an innovative educational open space and a bachelor program “Innovation, Management, Digital Technologies” in Dakar.
He is also a full professor specialized in experimental fluid dynamics. He completed his Ph.D. in France and post-doctoral studies in Germany.He has written extensively on basic and applied sciences and on pedagogy.
Pedagogical coordinator of the teaching program in physics at IMT Atlantique during 10 years, Michel Pavageau’s main focus has been to overcome the traditional silos between mathematics and the sciences that use them. In this respect, among others, he has developed the learning portal "epiphys".
