Biography
Maik Lehmann studied Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the universities of Marburg, Oxford and Heidelberg. He completed his PhD at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg with a research focus on HIV-1. Supported by a fellowship from the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, he conducted postdoctoral research at Yale University School of Medicine, where he specialized in virus–cell interactions. He went on to lead a research project at the BioQuant Center for Systems Biology in Heidelberg and later headed a research group at Humboldt University of Berlin. Since 2015 he has been Professor of Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Microbiology at the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Bingen, Germany. He is also the initiator and head of the BioMex Certificate Program for Advanced Biomedical Expertise in Rwanda.
