Biography
Dr. Lucian Ngeze is a lecturer at the University of Dodoma (UDOM), Tanzania, and a leading expert in teacher professional development with a strong focus on future-ready skills, educational strategies, and the integration of technology in teaching and learning. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India and has extensive experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating ICT in education projects across Tanzania and beyond.
Dr. Ngeze has developed and facilitated multiple face-to-face school teacher training workshops, online courses and MOOCs tailored to enhance digital literacy, 21st-century skills, and effective technology integration. Since 2018, he has developed six online courses of which thousands of educators from Tanzania and other African countries have benefited.
He has served as a consultant for several projects including the World Bank-funded ZIQUE project in Zanzibar, the KOICA-supported EQSSE-Z Project in Zanzibar and UNESCO’s Open Education for a Better World project. Dr. Lucian Ngeze has contributed significantly to Tanzania's education sector through MoEST initiatives, participating in the development of key national documents such as the National Digital Education Strategy, AI in Education Guidelines, and and Digital Education Guidelines for Schools and Teacher Colleges.
His fields of research include Teacher Professional Development, Technology Integration in education, Digital Literacy, Design and development of Online Courses/MOOCs, and Open and Distance Learning.
