Biography
Latifa Mkwawa is a rising force in Tanzania’s EdTech space, leveraging her expertise in operations, project management, law, and leadership to bridge the skills, education, and employment gap. As the founder of Apextra Virtual Academy (A.V.A.), she empowers youth—especially women and those in underserved communities—with job-ready and digital skills, unlocking remote work, entrepreneurship, and global career opportunities. Her aspired AI-driven, personalized learning, mentorship, and coaching model is looking to transform lives while positioning A.V.A. as a leader in Africa’s EdTech landscape.
Beyond A.V.A., she explores the tourism industry, co-hosts a podcast, and volunteers as a nonprofit ambassador. Latifa holds a BCom Law degree from Nelson Mandela University and an MBA from the University of South Wales.
Looking ahead, her vision extends to a world where every young mind is fueled by curiosity, unrestricted by limitations, and empowered to shape positive change.
