Biography
Laila Ben Salah is a professor at the École Normale Supérieure of Moulay Ismail University. She holds a doctorate in sociolinguistics and conducts her research at the Laboratoire de Recherche en Communication Interculturelle, Genre, Art, Langues et Sociétés (LaRCIGALS). Her work focuses on linguistic variation, language contact and socio-cultural dynamics in Morocco.
A specialist in young people's urban speech, she is interested in discourse changes and the influences of plurilingualism in Moroccan society. She is the author of a number of scientific publications on these topics, and is a regular speaker at international conferences on sociolinguistics and emerging linguistic practices.
Involved in university training, she accompanies students in French didactics and language sciences and participates in academic projects on language teaching and dialectal variation. As a member of ISATT and AIDA, she contributes to discussions on the links between language, identity and society, and strives to gain a better understanding of contemporary language issues.
