Biography
Dr Labani Kanyonga is a lecturer and educational researcher at Arusha Technical College, with over ten years of experience in the higher education sector in Tanzania. He holds a Master of Education in Assessment and Evaluation and a Ph.D. in Educational Research and Evaluation. For more than a decade, Dr Kanyonga has been actively involved in teaching and conducting educational research, contributing to the development of evidence-based practices in education. Currently, he serves as Co-Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator for the STEP STUDY (Strengthening Primary School Teacher Professional Development in Tanzania: Generating Evidence for Policy and Practice). This project is funded by the European Union under the Regional Teachers Initiative for Africa. The STEP STUDY focuses on key areas including assessing primary school teachers’ experiences and beliefs in the use of ICT tools for teaching and learning, as well as evaluating the availability of digital technologies in primary schools across Tanzania.
