Khalil Gueye

Biography

Khalil Gueye is an international television broadcaster, director, media consultant, and trainer.

He heads YELLOW RABBIT USA/SENEGAL and regularly contributes to CNN International and the Voice of America. He has extensively traveled in Africa, shooting documentaries, covering stories, and training journalists in the best practices in reporting using new media devices for effective evidence-based reporting.

As an International Television Broadcaster, Gueye has filed reports from Senegal, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda, Cameroon, Chad, Lesotho, the DRC, and Morocco. He has also covered several African issues for CNN International World Report and World View in English and Spanish for CNN en Español's "El Mundo Informa." He also trained journalists in Tanzania, Cameroon, Senegal, and Burkina Faso for the American Cancer Society, UNDP, and UNFPA on the best practices for writing strong television, radio, press, and Internet health, social, and political reports.

GUEYE traveled to Burkina Faso to train UNFPA French-speaking and communications specialists who converged to Ouagadougou from Mali, Lesotho, and Burkina Faso, Senegal, Benin, and Niger on writing, shooting, editing, and publishing online, small television projects through evidence-based communication. He recently trained journalists in Cameroon and Niger on "Reporting in conflict zones" and Mali on "Writing and producing a television documentary and a television Magazine." GUEYE also taught in Dakar UNFPA West Africa representatives and UNFPA cote d'Ivoire personnel and the University of Abidjan's media specialists on media.

Khalil GUEYE has also worked for the Voice of America as a writer, planner, and host of "Votre Santé-Votre Avenir," a weekly radio show in French on HIV/AIDS specially geared to the

Democratic Republic of the Congo. He also wrote and hosted VOA French service's prominent weekly television magazine "Washington Forum." He also reports as a contributor to VOA Africa's prime-time daily English language newscast, "Africa 54," and occasionally appears on the news et for in-depth analyses.

Previously, GUEYE, who conceived, wrote, and hosted several television programs on Senegal's national television station RTS, developed Generation TV Systems, a Dakar-based production company, and has worked for significant world broadcasters such as Canal France International, TF1, TV5, The BBC, CNN, and CBS.

In 2004, at the head of Generation TV Systems, Khalil GUEYE produced CBS' leading reality TV program, "The Amazing Race," in Senegal. The show won an Emmy award. In 2007, GUEYE launched one of the world's first all-online television stations, News

Box Network, NBN, exclusively Internet, and new media. In July of the same year, NBN was commended with a prize from the London-based One World Broadcasting, a British media trust for its "role in the development of Democracy in Africa."

Khalil GUEYE heads Yellow Rabbit, Image and Media, a media start-up. Also, he leads Bnews International, an Over the Top television station airing to the world via satellite; Bnews International is also active on social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Tik Tok. He has received several distinctions as a journalist and media personality, including the Voice of America's "Superior Accomplishment Award."
