Jean-Marie Dipama

Biography

Jean-Marie Dipama is a geography lecturer and full professor at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University. He is recognised for his expertise in the fields of climate, water, the environment, and natural resource management.

Since 2002, Professor Jean-Marie Dipama has devoted his career to research, training, and supervising university work at Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate levels. He has led major research projects both nationally and internationally.

Since 2020, he has been President of the Virtual University of Burkina Faso (UV-BF). Prior to this, he held a number of major administrative positions, including:

• Head of the Department of Geography at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University (2009-2012);

• Director of Academic and Pedagogical Activities at the Unit of Training and Research in Humanities at the same university (2012-2015);

• Director of the Doctoral School "Informatics and Climate Change" (2016-2017);

• Special Advisor for the establishment of the Virtual University of Burkina Faso (2017-2020);

• Head of the Master's Research in Geography at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University (2020-2023);

• Head of the "Dynamics of Spaces and Societies" Laboratory at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University (since 2021).

Professor Dipama is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in his field of expertise. He has been honoured with three national distinctions:

• Knight of the National Order,

• Knight of the Order of the Etalon,

• Knight of the Order of Academic Palms.
