Biography
James Massawe is a Tanzanian educator and the Executive Director of Elimika Wikiendi, a youth-serving civil society and educational platform that leverages the power of social media to transform lives. His journey from a secondary school teacher to a national youth voice reflects a deep commitment to addressing systemic challenges facing young people in Tanzania.
Holding a Degree in Education, James began his career in the classroom where he witnessed the barriers students face. Motivated to drive broader impact, he transitioned into the communications and development sector using digital media as a tool for social transformation.
He later became Communications Lead at Elimika Wikiendi before assuming leadership in 2023. Under his direction, the platform has grown into one of Tanzania’s leading youth-led initiatives empowering thousands through education and skills development programs.
