Biography
Hugh Clench B.Sc. (Hons), P.G.C.E., M.Ed.(Psych), C.Psychol., MPA*, AFBPsS
Hugh is a UK based educationalist, and since 2008 has been a director of OnlineTraining Ltd, which provides training in special educational needs and disability (SEND) to teachers and teaching assistants.
He trained as an educational psychologist in 1978, then worked in postgraduate teacher training for the next seven years. He began working as an educational psychologist in 1987, becoming a senior in 1995, then Head of SEND in Brighton and Hove in 1997.
From 2000 - 2008 he was Regional Facilitator for Development in Children’s Services covering 13 UK local authorities. He served on several national policy making committees in the UK, and had a national lead on several initiatives, including the development of Quality Standards for SEND Support and Outreach Services.
He has held several voluntary positions, and is currently chair of Amaze, a charity providing support to parents of children with SEND.
