Biography
Hisham Abdelsalam brings over 25 years of experience in higher education, e-government, operations management, strategic management, and institutional performance management.
Appointed President of the Egyptian E-Learning University (EELU) in 2020, Hisham has led the university’s efforts to become a leading model of e-learning in Egypt and the wider region. Through an ambitious digital transformation agenda, he oversaw a comprehensive reconstruction of the university’s technological infrastructure in line with the latest global developments.
He has supervised more than 80 master’s and doctoral theses and has published over 90 research papers in fields such as decision support, e-government, optimisation, artificial intelligence, modelling and simulation, service process improvement, and operations management. Hisham has collaborated on major research projects with international institutions, provided consultancy services to both national and international organisations, and contributed to the development of strategic management systems for several prominent Egyptian companies and institutions.
