Biography
Dr Ghada El Khayat is a Professor and Head of the Department of Information and Computer Systems at the Faculty of Business, Alexandria University, Egypt. She is the Principal Investigator of several research projects and Director of the Pedagogical Innovation and Distance Learning (ADIP) Centre.
Dr El Khayat has an extensive publication record with over 70 articles in conferences and peer-reviewed journals, alongside several chapters in internationally published books. She has supervised more than 30 doctoral and master's theses.
Her broad international experience includes serving as the current President of the Scientific Council of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), a role in which she contributes to the advancement of higher education in the Francophone world.
At eLearning Africa 2025, Dr Ghada El Khayat will present how the EdTech incubator PILOT at Alexandria University, where she serves as the Director, connects with industry to enhance entrepreneurial action. Many student projects from Alexandria, Egypt, will be showcased. She will demonstrate how these projects, in collaboration with industry, can serve as a model for African innovative learning and economic development, with a focus on improving learner engagement, fostering innovation, and contributing to economic growth.
