Biography

Dr George Mulamula is currently the CEO and founder of Technovate Advisory Services catalysing digital skills and innovation growth for sustainable economic development in the country. He is the Senior Digital Innovation Advisor at the Tanzania ICT Commission and Adjunct Lecturer at the College of Business Education supporting digital innovations and capacity building in emerging technologies.

He was the Chairperson of the Committee tasked to setup the Tanzania Digital Technology Institute Centre of Excellence under the Ministry of Communication & Information Technology and is leading the development of the Tanzania Strategy for Responsible use of AI. He was the founder and CEO of Dar Teknohama (ICT) Business Incubator for entrepreneurship & innovation.

Dr Mulamula was for over 8 years the first Africa Senior Technical Expert in Intellectual Property (IP) Automation with the World Intellectual Property Organization, based in Geneva, Switzerland and worked with Sub-Sahara African Governments on the utility of ICT in IP innovation. He has been a guest lecturer at University of Dodoma, Makerere University Business School, Carnegie Melon University (Kigali Campus), taught at KIST and University of Butare in Rwanda, AFRALTI in Kenya and Institute of Management & Information Technology in Tanzania. He has run ICT companies, written extensively on ICT and Technology Transfer for Sustainable Development and related policy issues. He has served on the Boards of Financial Sector Deepening Trust, National Microfinance Bank, Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority, XPrize of USA, Board of UDSM CoICT. He is currently on the Board of MSD Medipharm and SRC.
