Biography

Dr Elizabeth P. Bhalalusesa is a lecturer in the Department of Psychology and Special Education at the Open University of Tanzania. She holds a PhD in Special Education from the Open University of Tanzania and specializes in Educational Psychology and Inclusive Education, focusing on improving educational outcomes for children with special educational needs and disabilities. Her research emphasizes school readiness and the engagement of parents and teachers in inclusive environments.

Dr. Bhalalusesa earned a Master's in Education and a Bachelor's in Educational Psychology from the University of Dar es Salaam, along with a certificate in the Integration of ICT in Teaching and Learning from Singapore's National Institute of Education.

An experienced educator and consultant, she has collaborated with UNICEF and UNESCO on projects that enhance educational strategies and policies in Tanzania. She has participated in curriculum review and development activities with OUT, NACTIVET and MoEST. Her field research centers on the preparedness of children with special needs for schooling, demonstrating her commitment to practical application.

Fluent in Swahili and English, Dr. Bhalalusesa is devoted to promoting educational equity. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences and published several papers in reputable journals. Recently, she served on the organizing committee for the International Conference in Education: Promoting Basic Education for Sustainable Development, hosted by the Open University of Tanzania.
