Biography
Eli Vinokur is a Social architect specializing in community building. He is married, has 2 children and heads the department informal education at the Gordon College of Education. Eli devotes his time to the research and development of innovative methods to facilitate meaningful educational processes in formal and informal settings. He is the co-founder of “One Circle” – a social and educational enterprise that aims at assisting educational and corporate organizations to better prepare themselves to the future, by redesigning social and emotional architecture of the organization. Eli also served as a visiting scholar at Teachers College, Columbia University and at Oxford University, as part of his postdoctoral studies, funded by a postdoctoral grant from the ISEF foundation. Eli received his BA at the Ofakim Honors Program, University of Haifa, and his MA in Jewish Philosophy from Tel Aviv University. He earned his Ph.D. in Education from the University of Haifa. His thesis, supervised by Prof. Hanan Alexander, focused on cosmopolitan education sustained through the prism of local culture and heritage, as a plausible response to contemporary educational challenges. Eli has published and edited 8 books and and published many articles on subjects concerning society, educational and spiritual matters. Before embarking on his academic career, Eli was a secondary school teacher of Jewish culture and thought.
At eLearning Africa 2023, Eli will share best practices from Israel and speak on the importance of digital content integration training for educators and digital learning expansion in Africa.
