Dylan Brown

Biography

Dylan Brown has experience building and leading Software Engineering teams in the chatbot space for over 5 years, with over 9 years of experience as a software developer.

Dylan first experienced the power of conversational interfaces in his work with a startup in South Africa focused on making public transport data for Africa and other parts of the developing world more accessible. It was here that he built his first chatbots.

Dylan then moved to a fintech company in South Africa where he led a team that built chatbots to handle millions of Rands in transactions every month in the asset management industry, as well as serving other aspects of the financial services industry.

Dylan moved from his role as CTO to join Rising Academies in April 2024, where he has been able to return to his roots in impactful work, applying his chatbot and AI expertise to the world of ed-tech.

Dylan leads the Rori engineering team as the Senior Engineering Manager, providing technical oversight as well as getting involved in the code. Rori is Rising Academies' AI-powered maths tutor, which has seen success in helping students with their learning gains, and it is how the team has managed to create this success that Dylan will be sharing with attendees.
