Biography
Claudia expertise stems from over 15 years of academic and professional development in the tourism and hospitality sector, coupled with a dedication to advancing sustainable tourism practices and environmental education on a global scale.
Her professional journey has taken her across regions, including Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia, where she has left her mark through collaborations with organizations such as the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Claudia has also provided strategic consulting for destinations and tourism entities in Germany and Austria, and championed education and employment initiatives for local communities in Guatemala.
Currently working as the International Green Key Coordinator and Project Manager at the Foundation for Environmental Education, Claudia leads diverse international projects and guides tourism enterprises worldwide in embracing more environmentally friendly and socially sustainable practices. With a Master’s Degree in Social Entrepreneurship and Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Innovation and Management in Tourism, Claudia possesses a comprehensive skillset in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management, Intercultural Communication, Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Education for Sustainable Development.
Beyond her role at the Foundation for Environmental Education, Claudia serves as trainer and lecturer for university students and industry professionals. As an Expert for Sustainability & Education, she focuses on Sustainable Tourism, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), and Women Empowerment through Social Entrepreneurship. One of Claudia’s core missions is to foster meaningful cooperation between tourists and local communities, thereby creating a profound social and environmental impact through tourism.
