Biography

Catherine Fortune is a Senior Content Architect (Information Architecture) at ICTS (Information and Communication Technology Services) at the University of Cape Town (UCT) as well as a member of the e/merge Africa team. Prior to this, she taught in a primary school, secondary school and community centre for 11 years before freelancing as an e-learning curriculum designer and content developer. During this time, she lead numerous projects managing remote teams, to develop and translate localised online curriculum content for use in Africa, America, Europe and Asia.

She has recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Technology (UCT) and has more than 15 years’ experience in online teaching and training, e-learning content development, curriculum design, online assessment portals, graphic design, documentation development and user support. She is also an experienced online facilitator and co-facilitates the “Facilitating Online” short course at UCT.
