Bernice Fernandes

Biography

Bernice Fernandes is the CEO of Accelerate Business Group, a full-service strategy consulting firm that partners with organisations to address complex management challenges and drive growth through a hybrid model of in-person and virtual training. The firm is committed to advancing human capital development and entrepreneurship across Africa.

She is also the founder of Accelerate Women, a flagship initiative focused on promoting women’s leadership and participation in business, and the Accelerate Foundation, a non-profit organisation supporting underserved communities through programmes in education, entrepreneurship, and capacity building.

Her work in gender equity and economic empowerment has earned her numerous awards and recognition for her contributions to inclusive development and systemic change.

Raised in Tanzania, she pursued her studies in the United States and Germany, holding an MBA in Entrepreneurship, a Master’s in International Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Media. She began her corporate career in the United States before returning to Tanzania to lead transformational work across various sectors.

In addition to her leadership roles, Bernice serves as a board member, advisor, executive coach, actress, speaker, moderator, corporate trainer, and management consultant. Whether in the boardroom, on stage, or within community settings, she brings a unique blend of strategic insight, storytelling, and impact-driven purpose.
