Bernadette Kiarie

Biography

Bernadette Kiarie is the Instructional Designer at United States International University-Africa, specialized in learning design and online pedagogy. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Technology, Med. in Learning Design and Technology, Med. in Educational Communication Technology, and a Bachelor of Education (Mathematics and Business Studies). She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Systems & Applications and a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design & Performance Improvement, along other numerous certifications in online learning, Quality Matters and learning design. With over two decades of teaching experience and extensive expertise in learning design across diverse fields, she is a seasoned educator and instructional designer. Her published research focuses on instructional design for online education, faculty members’ professional development, ICT integration in teaching and learning, and 21st-century learning design. She is a Peer Reviewer with Kenya’s Commission for University Education (CUE) and Namibia’s National Commission for Higher Education (NCHE) evaluating Teacher Education degree programs and institutional accreditation.
