Biography
Prof. Dr Alexander Tillmann is the Managing Director of studiumdigitale, the Interdisciplinary Centre for Education and Technology Innovation at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, Germany. His work at studiumdigitale focuses on developing innovative technology-based processes and modern information infrastructures for teaching and learning in education. The centre conducts both theoretical and applied research, while also supporting the implementation of technology-based learning environments.
Prof. Dr Tillmann’s research primarily explores empirical educational issues, with a particular emphasis on media didactics in the use of digital media and infrastructures in teaching and learning. He is the Principal Investigator (PI) of several national and international research projects, covering areas such as learning design, learning analytics, digital literacy, virtual reality, and education for sustainable development. In addition to his research, he teaches in the Educational Technologies programme in the Department of Computer Science and contributes to teacher training in Geography.
