Biography
Tao Platt is an Associate at the Centre of Digital Excellence (C0DE) at Genesis Analytics, where he works on inclusively advancing internet connectivity, digital platforms, data ecosystems and artificial intelligence in Africa.
His experience includes assisting an African tier one mobile network operator respond to regulatory changes, helping design a broadband access subsidy in South Africa, coordinating a global study on the impact of AI and automation in agri-food systems, co-authoring a contribution to South African digital platform policy and building data management platforms for INGOs and donors. He has worked on projects for the AfDB, BMGF, South African DCDT, Harambee, Nal'ibali, UNFPA, USAID, World Bank and others.
Tao Platt holds an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics, where he graduated first in his class. His academic research focused on the policy environment around digitisation of education in Sub-Saharan Africa.
