Biography
Selina Ulmann is the Group Leader of "Agroecosystem Innovation & Adoption" at the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) in Switzerland. With a strong focus on participatory digital training development, she has played a pivotal role in various sustainable agriculture research and development projects, particularly in Africa and India.
As the project leader of the 6-year "Digital Training Materials for Farmers in Kenya and Rwanda," Selina has spearheaded the creation, testing, and scaling of innovative information technologies such as SMS- and IVR-based training, apps, videos, Raspberry Pi, and social media to improve farmers' access to organic farming knowledge. Her work is centered around empowering farming communities by designing participatory learning programs that foster effective knowledge transfer.
An agronomist with expertise in adult education and digital learning, Selina is committed to ensuring that research and development dissemination is impactful. She co-developed the "Learning 4 Change (L4C)" framework, which guides communication and training strategies to create positive change in food systems. At eLearning Africa, she will present key insights from her projects in Africa on digital training and share the L4C framework.
