Biography
Nora Serwah Obeng is a dedicated and resourceful librarian with over three years of professional experience in public library management, literacy promotion, and community-focused information services. As an Assistant Librarian with the Ghana Library Authority, she plays a key role in delivering reference and reader-advisory services, managing library collections, and facilitating digital literacy training for both patrons and students outside the library. Nora has coordinated several major reading initiatives, including school outreach visits, vacation reading clinics, and community book drives with a mobile library van aimed at improving access to educational materials in underserved areas. She is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments and believes strongly in the power of libraries to transform lives. Her work often involves collaborating with teachers, local leaders, and partner organizations to design programs that support lifelong learning and encourage a culture of reading. Nora holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education with Information studies from the University of Ghana, Legon and continues to upgrade her skills in cataloguing, service delivery, and modern information management systems. Beyond her professional duties, Nora enjoys creative writing, reading fiction, watching nature and crime documentaries and exploring social media tools that enhance learning and information access. She remains committed to using her expertise to empower young learners, support researchers, and strengthen community learning spaces across Ghana.
