Biography
Mariam El Marakeshy is an award-winning filmmaker, multimedia storyteller, educator, and researcher who worked in regions of Europe, Middle East, Africa, USA, and Asia. Her works are mainly on migration, cultures, art, environment, and education. Previously she worked for the United Nations. She is getting her Master's in World heritage both natural and cultural. Mariam won many global awards and recognitions like USA Social Impact Media Award, UN IOM Global Migration Film Award, International Environmental Media award, Romania Cultural Media Award, among others. Mariam is an educator and lecturer for school and university students as well as industry professionals. She is a selected fellow for New America, Columbia University, Radio Netherlands, OWM UK, and an awardee of National Geographic. She is the co-author of EU ethical media guidelines, and a contributor to the Netherlands Platform of International Education. Mariam is also an intercultural facilitator working with students and professionals from different backgrounds under some EU and USA programs for cultural understanding. Mariam's works got included in many educational curriculums and conferences especially on migration, environment, impact media, and multiculturalism.
