Biography
Marek's research is centered on the socio-cognitive development of children, particularly those with varying degrees of hearing loss (HL), examining how their language and communication skills evolve. With a foundation in language studies, he has investigated the role of linguistic communication in fostering social interaction and understanding. This work highlights the importance of language in social integration and has involved cross-cultural studies. Marek's more recent research examines the impact of online learning environments on children with HL. Collaborating with educators and psychologists, they are evaluating the use and effectiveness of online platforms for these children in Sweden, Norway, and Finland. The ultimate objective is to develop educational resources and policy guidelines that support the learning and well-being of children with HL in online educational contexts.
