Biography
Leo Igwe is a postdoctoral research fellow (Islam, African Publics, and Religious Values) at the Department for the Study of Religions, University of Cape Town, South Africa. He holds a B.Phil and an M.A in philosophy from Seat of Wisdom Seminary Owerri and University of Calabar in Nigeria and a doctoral degree in religious studies from the University of Bayreuth in Germany. He was the guest professor (Winter Semester 2018/2019) at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany. He has research interest in African Traditional Religion, nonreligion, religion and emerging technologies in Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya. Leo Igwe is the author of “Child Witch Accusations” in The Encyclopedia of Child and Adolescent Development (2019); “Human Flourishing Beyond Religion: Homosexuality and Atheism in Kenya” in Law, Religion and Human Flourishing (2019). He is the founder of Center for Critical Thinking.
